Stage Information

Stage 7 - The County Durham Stage

17:27 | £5 per car

Stage length: 15.97 miles

Principal marshalling clubs: Durham A.C., Darlington, CSMA

Location: Near Hamsterley village, 3 miles west of the A68

Car parks: Very large car park utilising most of the non-rally roads to the south of the forest.

You are advised to arrive early. Do not abandon your car on the access roads - it may be towed away. Do not park in Hamsterley village. Anyone trying to park on the village green will be shot at dawn!! Those attempting to reach the car park via Wolsingham will be routed onto the A68 and through Hamsterley village.

Car parks open: 08:00 Saturday

Very popular with spectators, the stage has generally good surfaces on both fast and twisty sections, this year run in darkness. Near the start of the stage is the famous Hamsterley ford. Also used by the Leeds-RAC International Historic Rally - first car due 14:22

Routes: from North and south use the A1(M) leaving at junction 58 onto the A68. Turn off A68 to Hamsterley.

Warning: Long traffic queues are normal, sometimes extending back to the A68.
